SPG Block

What is an SPG block?

The letters stand for Spheno-Palatine Ganglion. It is a collection of nerve cells located at the back of the nose. An SPG block temporarily interrupts nerve transmissions and allows a "reset" of the pain sensors.
For more than 100 years, SPG blocks have been known to ease or eliminate several types of head and face pain; including migraine, TMJ disorder, and trigeminal neuralgia.

What is involved in an SPG block?

NO NEEDLES! We perform SPG blocks by placing a very thin plastic tube into the nose to apply numbing medication in and around the SPG. It takes only a few minutes from start to finish. Most of our patients feel better immediately.

Will my migraines be cured?

Probably not, but the pain is quickly reduced --often to zero-- for a few days or more. Repeating the SPG block periodically is helpful in keeping migraine pain under control.

For many migraine sufferers, SPG blocks mean less pain, less medication, and more control over their lives.

Help for anxiety, neck pain, fibromyalgia, and more!

There are several causes of the above conditions. SPG blocks can offer noninvasive relief for many forms of anxiety, neck pain, and fibromyalgia as well as non-allergic runny nose, some eye pains, tinnitus --even some back pain!

"After my SPG block, I felt so calm. My headache was gone and my neck was very relaxed."
--Allyson H., Jackson, TN

"My headaches were every day, all day for years. The first SPG block brought my pain from an 8 to a 3 right there in the office. In the past two months, I have been waking up with no headache; and the pain has not gone beyond a 5 on my stressful days."
--Dan, Henderson, TN

"I get bad congestion and my fibro flares up. Getting the block keeps me feeling pretty good."
--Stan, Medina, TN
