Meet Our Medical Staff

 Naomi Watson, PA-C

Naomi Watson, PA-C earned a degree in Biology from the University of Louisiana with a minor in Psychology and a degree from Southwest Medical Center in Health Science with an emphasis in neurotransmitters. Naomi first encountered myofascial pain in 2002 when she suffered shoulder pain that did not get better with time, steroids, or pills. An osteopathic physician explained trigger points and quickly relieved her pain. As a result, Naomi began to study myofascial pain and was surprised by how often pain is caused or worsened by trigger points. Since 2007, she has been exclusively treating trigger points and joint pain.

Naomi treats all types of pain from headaches to foot pain, whether recent or long-standing. Although trained in traditional medicine, she is also familiar with supplements and techniques which promote calm and strength. Her goal is to help each person live well with less pain.

Our Myofascial Pain Specialist

You know those knots you get in your shoulders and neck ? Those are called trigger points They can form in any muscle in the body especially if that muscle is suddenly or overly used.

Commonly trigger points are found in the neck, shoulders, and low back. They can mimic other conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, sciatica, and plantar fasciitis. They can cause or worsen migraines as well as tension headaches. Trigger points do not show up on x-ray, CT, or MRI. They can't be detected with a blood test. The only way to diagnose trigger points is to feel for them.

As with any skill, the more often you do something the better you get. Naomi has been treating only muscles and joints for the past decade. If you have been told that you just have to learn to live with your pain; if you have tried pills that don't really help; if you are considering surgery in hopes that it will cure your pain; call Patterson Physical Therapy and ask for an appointment with

" For over 20 years I have dealt with migraines after a neck injury. I have been through various migraine treatments and doctors over the years and did not want another pill. There are so many options for migraine treatment but most of them take expensive testing or the treatment itself is expensive. At Patterson Physical Therapy I found my answer --trigger point injections. After my first one I nearly cried with relief. I could not remember when I was last able to easily relax my shoulders. Naomi explains everything and does not use steroids. She has also suggested other ways to increase my relief. While my migraines are not completely gone, I have fewer and they are less severe. All the staff have been courteous and genuinely concerned with my well-being. Beth and the staff really take the time to find the root of the problem and help you to get better."
